Croissant Man

Imagine a webseries that involves food as its characters. There's Croissant Man, Biscotti, Donut, Peanut, and Pain Au Chocolat. Croissant Man is depressed and thinks he has an existence that's meaningless. Then along comes a beautiful vision.

Note: This is on Vimeo, Amazon Prime, and YouTube. Unfortunately, it's only captioned on Amazon Prime.

YidLife Crisis

Based in Montreal, Canada, two best friends Chaimie and Leizer constantly debate. They're foodies with a lactose intolerance, and in this webseries, they speak Yiddish, with on-screen English translations.

Note: There are English and French translations of the series. One version is English subtitled, and the other is French subtitled. They also have other videos, but none are captioned.

Con Man

This 13-episode web series made crowdsourcing history in early 2015 when it raised a record 3 million plus, becoming the most-funded web series ever on Indiegogo.  The series was conceived by two actors from a 2002 TV series called "Firefly." In this series, former actors from a cancelled TV show attend conventions. Unfortunately, we could not get a screenshot showing the captions,

The Deaf Family

Before he was a star on "Switched at Birth," Sean Berdy appeared in other films, including this 12-part branded (it was sponsored by a VRS service) film about a deaf family. This film was released in 2008 and was not conceived as a web series - the term web series did not exist yet. However, since it is in 12 parts and is only available online it loosely meets the definition of web television. This may be the first known deaf web series. Sign language with subtitles only in parts 1 and 2. After part 2, there are no subtitles and only signing. Volunteers needed to help add subtitles! Add subtitles to the videos on Amara.org and notify us via a comment, or a tweet, to @captionedwebtv. Or message us on the Captioned Web TV facebook page.

Part 3 partially subtitled (help is needed to finish the subtitling - see the subtitles that have brackets around them): http://www.amara.org/en/videos/jcajOagjviuA/info/mosdeux-the-deaf-family-part-3-of-12/

My Life as a Video Game

Some of us have probably dreamed of being stuck in a video game. Having had a couple drinks with a friend, Don goes to what he thinks is the restroom. Instead, he gets teleported right into a video game as a First Person Player. Imagine his confusion, and then surprise, when he realizes where he is. He's accompanied by MENU, a sarcastic holographic head and hands, and Kara, an actual character in the game, going from one game style to another game style.

Troy's Big Break

A Deaf theatre director searches for the perfect actress. In his journey to complete the show's cast, he goes through disasters and struggles that life throws at him. It may be a little difficult to see in this picture (we can't make it any bigger) but the main character has a cochlear implant and signs. Strong language.

Tom Scott

Tom Scott vlogs about travel, his thoughts on different topics, and more. He has a series within a series called "Amazing Places." His captioning indicates he is semi-committed, with multiple gaps but the gaps are not severe enough to leave him off Captioned Web TV. Just make sure you look on his videos listing page for the ones that have captions. Who knew that the world's largest waterpark was in Germany?
