Peixos

Translated from Spanish, "peixos" is "pebbles. A hearing man is encouraged by a deaf woman to become an interpreter. He takes in a roommate who is deaf. What kind of person is the new roommate? The series uses humor to teach about and disprove myths about deafness.

Mirame cuando te hablo

Deaf Spanish comedy webseries about four young deaf adults. The webseries title translates to "Look at me when I'm talking to you." Three men and a lady live in a flat (apartment). One of the men seems to have female tendencies at times, maybe he's a cross-dresser. When other people step into their flat, anything happens.

The Deaf Family

Before he was a star on "Switched at Birth," Sean Berdy appeared in other films, including this 12-part branded (it was sponsored by a VRS service) film about a deaf family. This film was released in 2008 and was not conceived as a web series - the term web series did not exist yet. However, since it is in 12 parts and is only available online it loosely meets the definition of web television. This may be the first known deaf web series. Sign language with subtitles only in parts 1 and 2. After part 2, there are no subtitles and only signing. Volunteers needed to help add subtitles! A Deaf theatre director searches for the perfect actress. In his journey to complete the show's cast, he goes through disasters and struggles that life throws at him. It may be a little difficult to see in this picture (we can't make it any bigger) but the main character has a cochlear implant and signs. Strong language.
